Yes­ter­day Apple ignited a firestorm of debate on the sub­ject of dig­i­tal books, and the future of the pub­lish­ing indus­try, book dis­tri­b­u­tion, and likely con­sumer con­sump­tion pat­terns. They announced their goal of fol­low­ing through on Steve Jobs’ man­date to trans­form text­book pub­lish­ing.
